Random walking set

Was walking around downtown Chattanooga a while back, and snagged a few photos. Just getting your thoughts:

Thinking if I crop the tree tops out of this one it will be better:


Not sure what I think of this;

#1 I agree that cropping the tree tops would be an improvement, although it will still be left "floating" without anything to ground it. Shadows combined with heavy vignetting kills all the detail on the left side of the building. I like the colors and lines of the building, though. Maybe try a different crop?

#2 The sculpture doesn't pop from the background enough to make it easily discernible. I think a narrower depth of field and a flash would have helped make the image better. If it's just a walk away, you could try again another day. Maybe try to see if you can find a different angle to exclude as much of the horizontal and vertical beams from the background as possible.
