T : Stopped... i had 3 lovely security guards warmly advise me, a possible terror suspect or paedophile in hemel hempstead, that i cannot take photographs round the riverside area nor near the development of the new luxury flats :/

so i tried to explain that i was a student etc but because i have a "big camera" i need to write for permission to take photographs in town :/ blah blah blah i was escorted to the main road and told to go home.

well **** them.... i held my temper until i got home, only got one because they patronised me...

Security can be a pain, but it's part of life when it comes to shooting photos.

I was doing a car shoot by Fort Snelling here in Minnesota and Homeland Security showed up. We talked a bit, I told them what we were up to, they checked out the sweet car, and they let us go about our business.

I was fortunate that time, but usually we get a polite "Get out of here."

I know what mean about security guards, bleh.
None of them know about photography either. I did a long exposure at night and after explaining to guard that I taking a photo for a class he let me take a photo. But the entire time the shutter was open he kept asking me when I was going to take the picture.
Needless to say that no amount of explaining could pursued him that I was in the middle of a photo and he should not shine his flashlight in my lens. (I guess he was looking for a bomb or something.)

Your shots look good. Is that film or digital. What where you shooting on?

yeah must say you do look a bit like a pedo terrorist

i've been stopped a number of times taking photo all over london and all by hobby bobbies!
