Hey everyone,

I currently have a Canon EOS Rebel Ti and I was wondering if the standard lens that comes with it will work with a Canon EOS Rebel XTi. I'm obviously pretty new so don't be too harsh :p. Of course, the reason I'm unsure is because one is digital and one is not.

I'm on a tight budget so I'm trying to save money while still buying a good camera.

I asked the same question awhile back and was told that the EF lenses will work with the XTi

That's good to hear! Thank you for the quick response.

It's an EF lens so it'll work, but it will give you a much longer field of view than on your film camera. To have the same angles of view on your XTi that the 28-90mm gives you on your film camera, you'd actually need the EF-S 18-55 lens ($100 USD), taking the 1.6x crop factor of the sensor vs film into account. If you tend to use the wide end of your 28-90 a lot then you'll probably be disappointed. But if you tended to use the long end a lot for portrait type photos, it could actually work out pretty well.
