Here are some shots for my class on Lighting for Portraits. C&C welcome. Bonus points if you can identify the name of the lighting type/style I'm using in the different shots.

number 1 looks like a ring flash ?

edit: im probably wrong the catch doesnt match a ring

edit: these are really good the only thing i could criticize is the catch in # 2's eye..

could very easily be PS'd out tho so yeah, amazing..

I’ll take a stab at the styles…

1 might be butterfly
4 could be Rembrandt, 3 might as well but I think the upside down triangle is on the side of the face closer to the camera

Great job though! I had 1 class on lighting which went by way too fast. Looking forward to one I’m taking next semester!

The only thing might be slight redness in #2, but that could just be skin tone (mine is red too hehe)

Thanks :)

Yes, #1 is Butterfly (or glamor) lighting. The signature is the shadow under the nose.

#3 & #4 are both Rembrandt...#3 is broad and #4 is short.

#2 is just simple short lighting.

Thanks.

I prefer to have more light in the eyes, rather than less. I did give the eye in #3 a bit of a dodge before uploading it, as it looked a little dark.
