Recovering Damaged Photo Files

I accidentally put my Sony memory card in the reader upside down and now my card is unreadable. I've been able to recover some version of the files using Powerdatarecovery but they are still unreadable. The files are from a studio shoot that cost a lot to rent. Has anyone out there been able to recover files from a damaged card successfully? Thanks

I go to my local data recovery service like Kotar Data Recovery. They did a good job recover everything including old files. However, it costs a lot.

Thanks. I'm trying to avoid forking out more money but that may be my last resort.
