Just a couple red tails on telephone poles from my commute yesterday.

Very nice - I like the sharpness and the fact that you captured the eye in each one. Looks like you folks in Utah have the same "blue" sky that we have in Alberta - boring with no clouds a lot of the time , but it makes a nice background for these images.

Thanks, yeah just a plain blue sky yesterday, some days are better for interesting skies than others out here. if they would have been at a lower angle I could have captured mountains in the background but with nothing any taller than knee high sagebrush everywhere, they don't have any other option but to perch on the telephone poles...

Beautiful birds! Great detail... Blue skies are way better than overcast and rain in my book:)

Very nice! I like the plain blue sky, but that could be because I don't get to see one often.

I didn't mean to imply that there is something wrong with plain, blue skies. It is just that we (in Alberta) often get day after day after day of nothing but plain blue skies, particularly in the later parts of the summer and early fall. It would be nice to have a few puffy clouds as a backdrop just to break the monotony.

Aloicious, I know what you mean by "nothing any taller than knee high sagebrush everywhere" as I have the same problem during the winter when I go looking for snowy owls. Come to think of it, it won't be too long before they are back for the winter (scary thought - winter that is) and I go searching for them on hydro and telephone poles.

oh yeah I know you didn't mean anything against it, but I agree it would have been nice to have some kind of background.

I wish we got snowys out here, apparently they come sometimes but are really really rare.
