I'd go for the 24mm f1.4G (next time you need one, you get get it for 3 days for $97.95 from Borrowlenses.com, shipping to MN included).

If the lighting conditions are the same as they were last weekend, f2.8 may not be fast enough - especially if you want to keep your D90 at ISO 200.

Good luck!

Bill

Yeah. Changed my mind because I don't have enough for the deposit right now! Lol. It's $30 per day for the 24 F1.4G at west photo. I'm going to the show early with my tripod to get some nice ones of the art. I'll bounce my flash for the people shots like I did last show.

Yeah, I guess the 24/1.4 G. The 20mm had weird distortion. My ex- made off with mine, and I do not miss it one bit. I never liked that lens much. The 24/1.4 will give you some nice wide aperture opportunities...I "assume" you're shooting hand-0held, available-light candids, right? Not copy-type shots designed for portfolios?

Yup, pretty much candids. It's my buddies art gallery so I might give him a few for the website plus he will be letting me use the space for portraits. I'm trying to get a set of portraits of all the artists they show at the gallery. I'll get there an hour early with the tripod soi I can stop down a bit. I used every lens(35mm, 50mm, 85mm, 135mm) at the last show except my 180 2.8 ais. I just wanted something wider as it is pretty right in there!
