i think it's time to use 3rd party plug-ins for this job.

Well... I decided it was time to use a 3rd party. I cloned out the trombone and made the background all grey. Then I sent the file out to a retoucher. It usually takes about 3 days to complete. I'll post both images when I receive the finished work.

OK... I submitted the image on the left and received the image on the right. I added the vignette.

No need to.... the file I received back is 8x10 @ 300 DPI.
