what do I need to reverse fit a Minolta 55mm x1.7 lens to a Canon 700 DEOS
THANK YOU

Simply use an EF reversing ring of the correct size for the Minolta's filter threads.
Mount the reversing ring on the filter threads, then on the camera body.
Focus by changing the camera-subject distance (focus will be around 2 inches from the flange of the lens).

Aperture may be controllable via the ring on the lens but this varies widely on the mount of the reversed lens you may have to settle for the lenses default value.

Thank you for the info. The Minolta lens 55mm x 1.7 is a spare lens not doing anything so thought I would use it in this manner. I guess I need to find out the correct size of the filter thread and go from there.

If you have the front lens cap on it, it's usually on the inside of the cap.
