Wow, very nice lighting! Im not a big fan of the selective colour though. The third one has to be the best, the b and w takes away those small lighting reflections on the skin

I'm not a big fan of the selective color either. It's kind of a gimmick. It just worked really well for those two pictures. Thank you for your feedback. The first two pics were shot using a 430exII off camera with a Fong lightsphere and the last two were shot using my 500w 3200k softboxes. Hot lights suck, and I am regretful for not just saving up more money and getting another flash and some radios to trigger them. A couple of light stands and umbrellas or brolly's would have done the trick. Oh well, you live and you learn. Another flash will surely be my next investment. Although I've been eyeing the 70-200mm 2.8L, lol

Don't like your colour edit. It's very 90's. Can u post the first and third one in either colour or b&w? Do like those two pics, but not the edit.

They're beautifully shot.
The selective color doesn't work well for those. It really takes the focus off your daughter and makes it the balloons or flower.
The black balloon is so totally flat black that it REALLY sucks your eye into it and keeps the viewer from really seeing the child. Not going to look so hot in print at all.

I agree, after in the editing room, I was very regretful for having brought the blak balloon into the mix. It was flat and I didn't care for it. Here are the other versions of the two pics I did in selective color: (Also, what was your feelings on #2 as it was my favorite of the shoot)

IMO I like #1 and #3 a lot more in full color. I think the lighting is very good. Overall awesome job on the pictures.

I'd see if you can double process the black balloon so that it shows a little dimension instead of a black blob. The color versions are definitely better. The selective color makes the subject of the flower one the flower, not the little one. The balloon one the subject becomes the balloons. The color ones bring you back to the baby.
