Prefer #1, #2 does not work for me. I am not sure I would know it (#2) was a falls without the first one.

One is very good. 2 - shooting down doesn't give good perspective to the movement of the water or the height.

Loving 1. No 2 seems too tight and not feeling that angle.

Thanks for your opinions. I really wanted to like #2. I love the look of the rock through the moving water......but the more I looked at it.....oh well.

Desi I have those pictures I can see in my head. Some come out the first try, others it takes a while and many takes. If this is your vision, keep working on it.

#1 for sure, and you can see the colors/detail in the rock as the water flows over it.
#2 is just the angle doesn't seem to work as the water falls directly away from the camera. though you do get to see the colorful rock, but most people identify the water as the main subject.

Thanks for your comments folks. I'm glad that you are digging #1. Regarding #2, it is always hard to get past your initial infatuation with an image and see it's faults. I couldn't quite figure out why I didn't like it....but astroNikon is right about the water being the missing ingredient in that shot. Next time!
