Rocky Mountain National Park (my favorite place in the whole world)

Please, comment, critique, shower me with praise. Whatever you want. Okay, mostly the comment and critique part.

Hi Victoria, looks great, I like the way my eye is drawn across the picture based on the wooden fence. Good composition, like it.

Killer location and composition. Very nice shot.

A couple of comments;

A circular polarizer would help bring out the sky in the camera. You have a good exposure so in this case it's easy enough to bring out in postprocessing.

Are you shooting in RAW?

I'm hesitant to edit others photos, so this will be the last time, but IMO, you got some killer stock to work with.

Thanks! I'm glad you like the composition. I've been thinking about getting either a polarizing filter or a neutral density filter, but I haven't done much research as to which would be better for my purposes. I can't drop too much money on camera equipment right now (and by that I mean I can't really drop any money on camera equipment anytime in the near and sorta far future but I'm gonna do it anyway). The camera I shot this on didn't have a RAW setting. My new camera does, but I haven't tried it out yet, mostly because I've still got a lot to learn in photoshop. I enjoy your edits, and everyone else's, because I don't even ever realize the potential these shots have. Thanks for the time you put into it :)

Gorgeous capture! And I love the edit by abraxas!

My favorite place in the worl is Banff... Gotta love the mountains :)

Colorado?!?!?!?!!? Where was this taken? I love the shot and Walter... you did a great job of getting the most out of the picture. You have a great eye for photograpy. Keep it up!!!

BoblyBill- This was taken right along the main road through Rocky Mtn National Park. I desperately want to sell all my stuff, pack a sleeping bag and some food, and get lost in this park for the rest of my life.

Thank you to everyone who commented. It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside :)

Great shot, but great edit by abraxas as well.. When I first went digital SLR, I was unimpressed with my shots, till I learnt how to do some editing with photoshop.

nice shot, but I must say, I am absolutely amazed with abraxas' edit.

I can't believe you were able to pull that much detail out of the shot...especially the sky! There is almost no semblance of clouds in the original but in the edit there is great detail in the clouds and the lighting is great!

Can you give a brief explanation of your steps on that edit?

Ditto....

Now that is a cracking shot :) Well composed, and very well exposed as well. You did well not to blow out the sky.

Thanks everyone...I guess abraxas did a really good job :-P
