The red of the rose head is really vivid and pops right out of the picture!

The background is blurred just enough so you can make out what it is, yet you fill in the blanks of the "story" of this picture with your own mind. I really like it!

Nicely done! Think it would also be nice in B&W dark and moody.. with the rose as the highlight. White rose might be better for that....

Yeah I can't turn it white with out losing detail. I'm not that good at photoshop yet.

Well done. Very nice sharpness and vivid color here.

At first when I looked at it, I thought it needed a crop on the left. However after looking at it for a few more moments I realized that the lack of a tombstone on the left is what was giving the flower such a focal strenghth (because the balance is shifted to the lower right corner).

Anyhoo, it made me think and pause on it, and a photo you ponder on is a good sign.

Keep shooting and I look forward to seeing more.

MY only nitpick is that the horizon seems tilted. And i for one prefer the color version. Well done.

It's ok. And yes thank you. I think I prefer the color photo over the black and white.
