I prefer the colour version. To me, the contrast of the blood red against the black and white granite and the warmth and softness of the flower against the cold hard stone are very powerful. Having said that this should be an ideal candidate for selective colouring, but again in my opinion the way selective colouring has been abused by the masses means it detracts even here. Anyway, this is a great picture.
