I finally got a tripod and that inspired me... I'm really pleased with the results.

That first one is a real winner - unusual background for a rose!! The others leave me a little cold, but the first one's really great.

I definately like the first one best as well. I was kind of bummed, though, that the bottom got cut off a bit. Is that original, or did you crop it?

I like the perspective and composition of the first shot.
Yes, the bottom of the rose is cut off, but I still think it is a great photo.
I really like the fencing as a background, very urban feeling!

Thanks for all the comments. I'm actually a little surprised that everybody prefers the first one... I guess something in me reacts agains the classic flower closeup. The image isn't cropped; I'll be watching out for that cutoff next time.

I really like the fencing as a background, very urban feeling!

I actually passed the rose on my bike on the way to the park to take some shots. I struck me enough that I just had to come back.
