Nicely captured; perhaps next time use a larger aperture to better isolate the subject from the rather busy and distracting background. This would also have allowed you to drop your ISO down several stops.

understood.....thanks for the c&c.Now my excuses.....I was actually trying to keep a large DoF,as these were going past me quite fast,and perhaps within 15'.Laziness on my part,as I do have the DoF calc on my Iphone.Shooting in Aperature priority,would I have controlled DoF with ISO?As an aside,I also wanted to keep shutter speed up.Thank you in advance.

If you'd used a Lytro camera, you could fix the DoF in post. I'm just sayin'

How's this? I may have overdone the effect a bit, just to show how far you could go with it. In lightroom 4 I did the following:
Cropped
Used the brush tool to reduce clarity, sharpness, contrast and saturation on the background only (sloppy 3 minute job)
Increase global clarity, contrast, vibrance, saturation
Added vignette

by all means "alter away" means just that....you have my permission.I should change my thingy,as that comes from when I first signed up,and didn't know what to expect.

honestly,I liked my 2nd attempt better,but I'm biased....lol.I'm not real impressed with the desaturated b/g,against the sharpened subject.Nor the crop.Can't believe I'm C&Cing my own shot.I realize you only spent 3 min. on it,and I do appreciate your efforts.It just looks like 2 extreme routes were taken.Kind of like overcooked HDR.Perhaps its a "vision" thing??Thank you for taking the time,tho.
