RS vs NR minolta 35-108mm?

I have sony a65
I'm interested in getting a minolta 35-105
I need to know if the restyled or NR is best
Looking at some in eBay
Wanting to use it for family portrAits
I hear it is sharp?

I have looked into this lens a lot, from what I understand the original version is very sharp, while the restyled version is not nearly as good. I'd go with the original myself.
