Rural Alabama Decay...

I have posted quite a few film photo scans in the various gallery forums and this is the first digital image I have posted... Shot with a Nikon d810 and a Nikkor 24mm f2.8 lens... I don't recall doing much editing on this one.... the light was overcast that day ....could probably be saturated more but... so what do you think ??

It is certainly an interesting scene but the shot would definitely from a more contrasty editing, maybe even doing a little bit of a grungy look. Also I'd like to see more of the surrounding to underline the "nature takes over man-made things"-theme. Maybe next time shoot a landscape version?

I agree on the contrast.... it doesn't have enough punch... and all the vines and small limbs made it tough to focus....

I will post a few more from this spot to show the context ... this chair was sitting out away from a collapsing front porch in a thicket of briars, vines and bushes... an old man and his "lady friend" stopped to chat and shared stories of the history of the old house... apparently his parents bought it many years ago, lived there for awhile...a series of tenants moved in and eventually it was too costly to maintain and abandoned....the family to whom it originally belonged (19th century) has been back to visit and he said they cried they were so sad to see its condition.... I always enjoy hearing/learning the stories behind these old places and down South there are quite a few of them.....
