Ok, newbie hat is on....what F stop are you using that has such DOF but has such perfect lighting?

It's the "pi" F-stop that only Danny and Kris have access to on this forum.

Awesome shots Danny, these are actually even better than the last one, #1 being my fav. You know I'm planning to go out hunting for some kingfishers, but they are so damn difficult to track.

I keep seeing the images that you are getting, and I am really regret selling off my Canon FD lenses ... little did I know (at the time) that mirrorless cameras would be coming ... I miss the focus throw on the MF lenses, easier to manually focus action than on these AF lenses.

Sorry Nancy different time zones and catching up. I always use the lenses wide open Nancy and they are pretty sharp, So not a lot of DOF to play with. The 500mm is wide open at F/4.5 and the 800mm at F/5.6. They are sharp wide open those lenses.

Ahhh Dennis, yes the camera was bought to suit the lenses and mirrorless it had to be for the FD's. I tried m4/3 and while it was all right, I wanted APS-C and a 24 meg sensor that would be able to resolve those lenses. The NEX-7 is pretty darn good in that department. I only own FD lenses

I was just looking at your question in the other forum Chris and I'll get to that soon. So that first one is ...... with the 500 F/4.5L, 1/3200, ISO 400 and the lens is always used at F/4.5.

Here's the image before that one and will have the same EXIF
