Samsung tablet - HELP please!

To all you techies out there even though I know I am not stupid when it comes to technology...I bought my son a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 for Christmas and I am trying to get on Google Play to download some games for him, BUT, I keep getting a no connection retry message. I am connected by WiFi with a strong signal and can get on the internet. So...Do I have to have the tablet on my cell phone plan in order to access Google Play? My mom has an iPad and she connects to her home wireless. I.DO.NOT.UNDERSTAND!!!

No you don't have to have it connected to 3G to access the store.

Did you just get it out of the box? If so it may be updating itself. If not, try this.

Settings>Applications>Find the store app>Delete Cache/Data and force a restart on it if you have the option.

Do you already have a Google name/account that you're using to log in with?

I think you need to register with a gmail acct. before you can access the Play Store.

I just bought a Samsung tablet - non Cellular just Wifi
I was getting the same problem when I tried to use Google Play
My 7yr old son ... yup .. said to use the Samsung App Store ( I can't remember the exact name) - and that works perfectly to download apps and games
