Santa Cruz photos CC please!

Have fun in the Santa Cruz area, some awesome beaches there. so these photos dont do much for me but I will offer some comments

1. I dont see a clear subject, and if you want a better sunburst use f/18ish
2. crop in tighter to remove the deer from the center of frame, leave space for it to frolic on the left
3 & 4. Its a tree stump. Remove from center of the frame and perhaps shoot a vertical. Try adding a foreground or leading line for additional interest. If you can come back when its foggy that always adds mystery to the forest.
5. Crop in closer on the one with the upside down head. Otherwise generically try to get closer to their level and dont be afraid to include additional background for context.
6: Interesting framing, but its distracting that the right is white, your eye goes to the brightest part of the image so its pulling me away from the seal. Nice job going in close to get the eye (with catchlight!), but again try not to center it. Google Rule of Thirds will give you some good info.

thank you for the feedback! the only photo i cropped was the one with the deer #2. and all of these photos were shot in landscape mode since I'm still learning how to use the manual functions. i will take all of your other pointers into consideration next time i am shooting photos

UCSC? Nice, I moved to SJ from Santa Cruz a few years ago. Lot's to do and shoot there for sure. Welcome to the site!
