In doing a test with the D7000 and off camera SB-700 in the REMOTE mode I noticed the following when the D7000 pop up is used as the commander and blocked with the [h=1]Nikon SG-3IR[/h]With the SB-700 EITHER TTL or M in group A and the D7000 pop up set to "--" and group A set to "M", the results are the same exposure results are the same when various power outputs are selected in the camera.
So I would conclude that:
1. The TTL/M/GN(AB) switch is disabled in the REMOTE mode of the flash
2. If the camera in group A is set to M it does not matter if the off camera SB-700 is set to TTL OR M or GN as the power output can still be adjusted between it's full range of 1/1 thru 1/128
