scary night hike

I followed my friends up seymour mountain in vancouver last week for a "full moon" hike.

It was a freaky experience hiking a mounting in the dark, but I was able to capture some awesome photos!

I loved how some of the stars showed from behind the clouds, but is it to boring of a scene?

How long was your exposure? 45 seconds? A minute? The stars are starting to stretch out due to the length of the exposure. I'm trying to find nits. Otherwise a nice shot.

It was about a 6 minute exposure. i'm a big fan of star trails, so i enjoyed that they started to turn behind the clouds. though i know some people don't like the star trails created by long exposures.

I think it works, the only nit would be perhaps a different snow bank for the FG, perhaps smoother or more defined crest.

For a six minute exposure, how did you not over expose the snow? Wonderful shot too

i brought down the lightlights a little, and put some fill light in the shadows in post. originally the snow came out pretty bright, but lightroom was a big help with that!

Thanks, one more reason to convince myself to go purchase Lightroom and play with post

lightroom is definitely a good purchase, worth the money
