Sculpture Garden - pic heavy

Went with my photo meet up group to the deCordova Sculpture Garden and Museum in Lincoln, MA. Beautiful grounds and very interesting art. Weather was an inhospitable bright and cloudless day so had to improvise to get many of these shots and had to pass up taking photos of a few great pieces because the lighting was just too harsh (we were there 10-1). Taking photos of other people’s art is not really something I’d want to do with any regularity, but I enjoyed the sculptures and the grounds and the company. Tried to be a bit creative with the angles and dof. It was interesting to shoot with a group and share ideas. I’m going to post the garden photos in a separate thread.

I think you did great, love them. Gives me something to look up tomorrow. I love all types of art. I like to read about them.

Thanks jc. There were some small plaques near most of the art but I didn’t read that many of them. I didn’t have time to go into the museum building either because I had a late afternoon commitment.

Really nice. I think you did a great job of finding interesting views under the conditions.
#3 is really creative and pretty. Remember that background for your next couple shoot!!

Very cool set.

I would never have the artistic thought process to shoot things out of focus. I'm quite boring when it comes to things like that.

Getting out and shooting between 10 & 1 is a challenge and you made it work. #1 looks like a 3D graphic and love #3 creative.

Good thinking. I don't do any portraits but this place is a wedding venue so I'm sure it's been done!

No, didn't bring the LB on this outing. That one was with the Pentacon AV 80mm, It's an adapted lens I picked up on ebay. I love the bubble bokeh effect of it.
