I don't know why you are concerned with putting a signature on your image. It will not protect it from being stolen by anyone off the web. I can take a signature or a watermark off an image in less than five minutes, using Photoshop, not that I am going to bother - I am not into "stealing" other folks images. I am sure there are others out there who could do it faster than that.
