Better than a beer bottle? (I decided to find one of the pieces I made instead of something store-bought)

It looks a little bet but I think you should put it agianst something that is flat black so that it has that contrast.

But why can't you put it flat? I think it would look fine if you draped it off a small box (ring box) under the background material or something...just to give it a little depth if you so require it.

I can't remember who put up the original link because he/she deserves the credit.

I built a studio box from this link to Strobist.

Here's an example I did. Mind you, I am not happy with my results yet, but the box works a treat.

I would think you can fashion something such as this to work for jewelry.
