I was on my way to the zoo when I saw this building and went back. I thought it was a perfect opportunity to use my new ultra-wide lens.

Security came after me, but I was already in my car driving off. I resisted the temptation of sticking my tongue out.

Which one is best?

My favourite is the first, it shows most of the building and also that it has a bit of a "bend" in the side walls.

And why on earth would it be a security hazard to take a photo of modern architecture such as this? I simply refuse to understand this! And I will continue to refuse to understand this for all times! *stomps foot*

i like the 2nd one the building reflects the blue from the sky and looks cool =P

I like the first one for the same reasons, but I like then lens flare in the last one.

I don't know what security had a problem with. I wasn't even up close to the building so that they could be alarmed I was staking out the place or something

By the way, this is the Pier 1 headquarters building...

I agree with Lafoto two-fold. I like the first shot the best, what a great use of an ultra-wide lens! Second, this business about getting chased by security guards, this has got to stop happening to us photographers, its ridiculous! Skiboarder72 and I were once asked to leave a local college because weren't students and therefore couldn't take pictures of the school. We were once confronted by the police in a small town for just taking pictures. Everyone is so concerned we are taking pictures of their property, people need to lighten up and let a brother or sister take a bloody picture!

I don't know if I would have stuck my tongue out...:greenpbl:

I like number 3 that glare is great.

I would stop and say what is it that you want?

Instead of even letting them talk you should start
by talking fast asking them questions like
your name
your employer
the reason
the legal backing for the "reason"

and I'm sure they will just go like Oh

I actually like the second shot better. It feels like you are actually looking "up" at the building. The colors in this shot are right on also.

I like the twinkle on 3 though too :)

I didn't stick my tongue out, I just wanted to. I'm fairly smart though and he was a BIG guy!

Anyway, these are great links. We should get these stickied somewhere...

i like the last one as well, very interesting building that seems to be in the middle of nothing else...

I've been chased by security too, meh...

I like the second one best. The first one is a bit crooked, and I find the reflection on the third one a bit distracting. However, they are all awesome shots!

I am torn between two and three really. But nice and sharp.
