I have used the cheap ice walking springs. They look small screen door springs criss-crossing across your shoes. They are fine for walking on relatively level icy terrain and even snowy gravel but I would never try them on rocks, under any weather conditions.
I think the best advice for wet rock footware is, as already suggested, contact or find a rock climbers blog.
Many activities do contain an element of risk, sky diving, back country skiing, scuba diving, white water kayaking and a host of other sports that are routinely photographed. The most often repeated phase is " have a buddy" and proper gear.
It seems like a trite expression, but if it feels like more than you can handle, is probably is.
