I don't have much experience but it looks good to me for just messing around. I don't like how the edge of the rail invades into the lighted space around the cross... perhaps you could have sat a few steps down or moved the camera a bit to the left.

it looks really nice!:thumbup: I really like your lighting, and nice clear, sharp focus. Great casual shot.
The cross really brings it home for me; I like it a lot. Just a personal question...are you a Christian, or what is your religion? Or is the cross just something you decided to incorporate into your portrait? Sorry, I'm a little too curious for my own good sometimes. Reason I'm asking is because I am a Christian myself and love it when others show their faith openly!

But anyways, good shot all around. Congrats.

Thanks for the positive feedback guys!!

I agree that the railing invading the lit area around the cross looks funny. Also don't like the hard shadow off of my nose.

And yes, I am a Christian, and I chose the location specifically for the cross in the background, because I felt it would tell people that I was a Christian, just by seeing the photo. And it worked!!! I'm glad you asked, it's great to know that there are other Christian photographers on TPF!!

Great casual shot. I would probably PS the rail out if it were my shot. I can see your concern with the harsh shadow but overall the shot says to me hey I am a Christian and just hangin out. This is the type of shot I could see someone using as their social media shot.

Ohhh and I suspect there are more than the 3 of us Christians out here on TPF.

I don't think I'm quite good enough to get the rail out of there without making it look obviously edited. And good call, it's my facebook profile pic right now!

The only reason that I said it was good to know I wasn't the only christian on here was that I'm a member on several other forums (one for 5 years, with 6,000 posts) and I have never met another Christian on any of them. Nice decent lighting here, I really like how you composed the cross on the left. However, what is bugging me the most is where that handrail is, which kind of invading the crosses space!! I also really like the shadows in the background.

Nice shot by the way. I feel the same as the above posts concerning the rail, and I feel that the area on your forehead where it is a little blown out is a smidge distracting as well, but overall, great shot you have there. keep up the good work!

I just clicked on the user cp tab to check for updates, and made the connection with your name immediately. Great band by the way!!

i didn't notice the blown out forhead until now, but now that you mention it it's a little distracting.
