Self-Portraits

That's my Pentax 67II. I shot three rolls of film (Tmax100) at two different locations that day, which for this camera is 30 6x7cm negs. The film is developed, and I've printed a few work prints, but nothing is in a finished state yet. Snowy day pics always take me longer to work out in the darkroom, because of the low contrast lighting combined with a high contrast subject. There are some good ones though, and I'll be sure to post them when I get them figured out.

The snow was really coming down. Harder than I remember for a long time here in Kansas. I kept the lens hood on the entire time (you can see it head on in the pic, it's rectanglular around the lens), and when I hiked through the woods I kept the camera pointing down either on the tripod or around my neck. Only a few flakes got on the lens surface in a couple of hours. I resisted the temptation to wipe them off, and they quickly faded to nothing.

The thing that was freaking me out was that there was so much snow coming down that several inches would pile up on top of the camera while I was composing and shooting a pic. I was worried about snow melting into the camera. I broke it down into component pieces when I got home and let everything dry.

My buddy had his Super Graphic 4x5 and a new Canon G5 digital cam. He was worried about the G5 in all the snow. Right after he took the pic of me, suddenly the G5 wouldn't take anymore pics. He was freaking out! But it turned out that the mem card was just full. We're such film geeks.

I have the opposite reputation. Besides photography, I also like to cook. My BBQed meats have swayed at least two hardcore vegetarians to the darkside, and when I cook, I'm veggie friendly, so it's not like there wasn't plenty of other stuff for them to eat.

Ah ha ha, but you see, my ex-roommate also tried to become a total-vegetarian for a month. Two of other of my friends also tried to become vegetarian. It was kind of weird since I neve really discussed my views on veganism with them. Like I said, my oh-so-subtle influence is powerful indeed!
I doubt your BBQ would sway me though! I haven't eaten meat in 10 years and haven't craved it once (I never liked the taste or texture).
Kudos to you for being veggie friendly. Very few of your kind!
