This really isn't my thing. A girl friend of mine, who I'm a tad enamoured with, wanted to check out a botanical gardens at a park in downtown Toronto called Allen Gardens today. Sure, I said. What else would I say. I dig her. Brought along the camera and grabbed a few shots. My lens isn't built for this work, I should mention.

Feel free to kick the crap out of them, if you like. It's not my thing so I won't feel bad if you don't like them.

I should also point out that I realize the compositions are far from original, but they say that imitation is the highest form of flattery or something like that.

And lastly, I know I shouldn't be posting again today, since I just posted a series of shots this morning. But I've had a couple of glasses of wine which put the "what da hell" in me. Hope you don't mind.

These are great. #2 is amazing :)

number #2 is a real eye catcher! , hey at least your thing in toronto has flowers here in Hamilton our "Royal Botanical Gardens" is no where near Royal; doesn't even have nice flowers. You think i can get that as a wallpaper :sexywink:

Thanks everyone, much appreciated.
Davor,
Send me a PM with your email address and I'll send you a high res file of #2.

The first one is really the only one I don't like - the rest of them are very nice, and I'll agree with everyone else that #2 is awesome.

Just post as many photos a day as you like, with or without wine - why not?
And you really did well "outside our personal box", and I like the outcome.
Mostly so #2, of course. Here I definitely go with the mainstream ;).

Thanks everyone. Much appreciated. Oddly enough, I happen to really dig #1. It's always interesting to see how people differ in their tastes.

BTW I added one last photo to the group above. I hadn't processed it when I posted the group.

Like everybody #2 is awesome, and i like #6 very much.

I love the set and have to agree that 2# stands out the most! Just out of interest what lens' was you using?

There's a few places in London that i can visit and you've got my taste buds going now ;)......

Thanks TBW. I was using my Tamron 17-50mm. The leaf is like 3 feet long by 18 inches wide. I shot at 17mm from about 2 feet away, straight up.

EXIF: Ap | 17mm | F2.8 | 1/50s | ISO 200

I have to agree, #2 is mesmerizing...and #3 is really pretty....
