Ok, here is my OWN color-edited version of photo #2. I downloaded GIMP for free and did exactly what clanthar suggested, or tried to. I definitely think that it has been improved.

Thank you! I definitely see the difference...was going through my Flickr photo album and went "Wow, that photo really does look blue!" And I used the suggested crop and tried to edit the exposure of photo #2. If you click for the full-size version, you can see a little more inside the tree:
