I shot a dive meet today, and it was HARD.
The problem is dive is a vertical sport. duh, yeah.
You have to follow the diver up and down.
Unless you zoom out enough that the entire vertical movement is covered in the frame, without moving the camera.
I am used to horizontal sports, so my muscles are used to panning horizontally, not vertically.
And tracking a diver going up/down was HARD.
At the start, I was CLUMSY. By the end of the meet, I wasn't clumsy, but I was still struggling.
For the first time, I had to use a 5x5 focus matrix, because I could not keep the diver in even the 3x3 focus matrix that I use for my other sports.
Definitely need a LOT more practice.
And this was only on the 1 meter board, not the 3 meter board or high platforms.
