Where is the best and cheapest place to buy a Rebel T3i? & what lens do u recommend for a beginner?

Stick to Adorama or B&H. You will find lots of CHEAP deals on the internet, but if they are so cheap it's amazing? it's too good to be a bait and switch. You can't ever go wrong with Adorama or B&H.
For a lens? Start with the kit. Maybe add in the 50mm f/1.8. Until you know what you want and what your style is you will just be guessing at what you want and need. You need to get the camera and begin learning first. You'll learn what you want and need by doing that!


Wait... I thought you had a 7D and never wanted to shoot professionally or anything. Why would you be downgrading to a T3i from the 7D?

A week ago you were looking for a full frame camera to go with your 7D...

Lol.......one of my friends husbands called me and was wondering what camera to get for his wife and she's never had a DSLR, so he wanted me to check around for him. Lol it's NOT for me.

Check Pricegrabber.com to find the lowest prices on stuff, combined with seller reputations. I've ended up at Amazon after all's said and done so many times, that I just go straight there anymore. Lots of the stuff I get through them still comes from places like Adorama or some other photography outlet anyway, so...

THIS time of year, Target or Best Buy might actually be just as good as B&H Photo. One huge advantage of a local retail outlet is that YOU can get your hands on the camera and try it out. This time of year there are often some pretty good deals on photo equipment at the major chain retailers like Target and Best Buy. B&H does not offer much of an advantage on simple items like vanilla d-slr bodies.
