5 not a great picture (heavy crop) but cool moment. Northern Harrier and Short-eared Owl fighting for dinner

Terrific shots! I particularly like the first two.
The short-eared owl is the ONLY owl I've ever seen in the wild, and only once. Where I saw it (them, actually--about 3 or 4 of them but only one I ever saw that well), there were ALSO Northern Harriers there, and they seemed to take turns harassing each other. Wonder why that is, that the Short-eareds and Harriers always seem to be found in the same spot?

Great job Mike !!!!

Love the first two and that last one is just an amazing moment, a little more exciting than the Junco and Wrens I saw out my office window today lol

Thanks. From what I've been told they're scarce around here.

Thanks Bill. The fight was cool to see.

Well they'd be a lot better if his ears were longer.

Lol.. ok, ya, you got me.. they are great shots. Congrats.

Thanks. Ok Long eared Owls next on my list.

Very cool! I have yet to see one... No LEO either..

My favorite photos are BIF. Add to that a bird I've never seen before, fighting with another bird. Outstanding!

Nice shots. I'm jealous :D
What a moment to capture between the hawk and owl. That's a National Geographic moment right there. Too bad you weren't closer.
