Part of Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon, Myanmar

The marble tiles are extremely hot by the end of the day - and shoes are forbidden.

I'm guessing a photo can't do justice to something like that. Wow.

I'd gladly take my shoes off to see that in person. :)

No, it's huge and detailed and there's something around every corner.
There are three places in SE Asia that are incomparable for different reasons;this Shwedagon Pagoda complex, the temples at Angkor in Cambodia and the old city of Bagan in North-West Myanmar. If you have a month to travel those are life-list things to see.

This temples are very hard to photograph. You've got really good light that day. Nice.

Don't blame camera for the high quality of your pictures. :bek113:

#1 Is So Beautiful.

There are two places in Myanmar that are so beautiful that it makes sense to live there just to be around them. Of course after a day or two that idea begins to sound silly and reality wins, but for a moment the beauty is overwhelming. Shwedagon pagoda is one and the old city of bagan is the other.

For me those two places are far more beautiful than the temples at Angkor. If I am ever free to travel, I will sell all my stuff and spend the rest of my life traveling to see things.
