Being completely honest and not pulling any punches...

I do very much like #2 ... the stars came out awesome. Neat shot. I like 3 as well, though I think it may be a bit too dark and needs straightening.

A number of them look pretty dark.

A few of them have angled horizons you should straighten up.

4 and 6 look like you did something rather harsh to them... oversharpened maybe? The treatment doesn't work for me, personally. It also looks like you kind of cut off the top of 4... or at least cut it way too close to the object.

In general, I think the vignetting is pretty distracting... that's a personal thing. I just don't like the effect, but even so I think you were a bit heavy-handed here.

The seal shot is a bummer... it looks kinda funny... basically looks like the shot you could have gotten 1/2 a second earlier might have been better. Still neat that you captured the seal though.

yeah the dark thing is a BIG PROBLEM for me. Also, just the post production in general has been a huge pain in the ass because i've been working on my brand new laptop. The screen is AMAZING, but i guess its too bright, because when i go back to my desktop all of the pictures can look dark. I haven't had access to my desktop in a while, so i was just guessing about the brightness levels. My desktop isn't a shabby setup either, 3007 dell and 2405 ultrasharp... my laptop images usually look dark on both of those awesome monitors. But to be honest, all of the pictures look perfectly lit on my laptop screen. Strange.

Buy one of those color correcting devices. I have a Spyder and I've always been pretty happy with it, though I've seen a few people complain about them on the forums. Some other people may have some other suggestions.

IMO an indispensible tool if you're even remotely serious about digital photography.

HAVE to have it.

I'm totally unfamiliar with that. What exactly does it do? Could you post a link or pm me? I searched for spyder on google and got a whole bunch of car stuff.

I have the spyder as well, while it is not perfect in a sense if you go for professional product photography, it is very good value for money for the serious hobbyist and for most photographic applications. It can significantly improve your monitor calibration unless you go for really expensive printing stage proof-monitors.

i like #1, a bit dark though.

same with #2

in #3 you unfortunately cut the top of .. but i like the colour processing

the last one lacks contrast and is ... downright boring (but this is just a personal view)

Yeah the last one was pretty much just a, hey, look at all the freaking jellyfish.
