How can i find out which SPECIFIC lenses by Sigma will fit my Nikon D40? Also, do Sigma lenses have VR/IS in them like the new Nikon NIkkor lenses do?

For your D40, check out the Sigma site and see if the Lens has Nikon mount and it is a HSM lens. HSM lens has a built-in motor so the Auto-Focus will work on your camera. Also, "OS" is the IS/VR in Sigma. So look for that as well.
