im looking to buy a new lens for my rebel. i was looking at the sigma 70-300 f/4.0-5.6. i want a little more zoom then i get now. i shoot nature stuff and portriats. is this a good lense for me? should i go canon? im also open to any sugestions for any other lenses.

It should be an OK lens, about as good as your 18-55 lens.

i think i might go for the canon 28-105 f/3.5-4.5
