Wasn't Sure how to do composition in this type of photo?

Well... you achieved a silhouette... but the shape isn't interesting. Silhouettes are all about shapes.
There is too much black on the bottom. The composition isn't good. Maybe if you had it in landscape and didn't cut off the big tree it would have been better.

Next time... get closer and shoot a silhouette right through the leaves and branches... or get a shot of the whole lone tree with not so much foreground... KWIM?

I would edit it to LYKWIM but you don't allow edits on your photos. I like the colors though!

go for the edit. I don't mind, I never got around to changing that. I'll post another one from the set. I couldn't get the single tree because I was working with a whole line of them "Sadface"

Yay! Thats what i mean. The composition could be better, but sometimes things and nature get in the way to make it impossible to get *the* best shot.

This is what I mean though... this is my quick edit

But there wasn't a single tree... So maybe you could have captured the tree line without cutting off the big one?

lol...yup. I erased some of the artifacts so it wasn't exactly symmetrical. It was just a quick edit

I never did a silhouette... but I would think you need a tripod at night since you have to have a slow ss to allow ambient light in. The small aperture is to make up for all the light coming in because of slow shutter speed.

well the t rex is my favorite by far but the mirror image.... watch the sky looks really fake in that image
