Simple question about enlargements

Say I have a picture that I want an 8 x 10 copy of, do I take the negative to the store or do I take my 4 x 6 copy?

Both and then ask what's best there.

Usually the negative, but there are machines in some stores that you can do reprints up to 8x10 picture to picture. At Walgreens, they have a Kodak picture maker and the Fuji Alladin...both with make a reprint from a picture. But...correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you get better quality from the negative.

You are right with enlargements but nowadays they just digitally scan the negative and print onto the paper. (I think)
