Not trying to make it look like a super realistic skull beneath skin but not sure how this is working.

Skull and bones taken from old book prints.

I know it needs a lot of work.Been looking at it for too long. Thoughts?

I can appreciate the effort behind it, but it's not really my thing. That said, I think it would work better if the half-toning of the skull were a little less 'in your face'.
