I like this set.
I'm trying to figure out your new "look". In some shots I'm thinking "wow, he has dropped contrast like a bad habit". Not sure what you're doing different. Tone mapping or something? There is a uniqueness of the look I'm definitely liking but I'm on the fence to be honest.

I've noticed a new feel to your photos as well. I do like #3.

Thank you. The new feel is because I often see the comments about there not being enough detail in the shadows of pictures so I thought of a different way of doing my pictures. I started zooming in like 100 or 200% to get a really good look at the fine details in shadows and I noticed that before I'd done that I wasn't really seeing the detail like I should've so by coming down on the contrast a little it lightened up the shadows enough to bring out more detail but I'm doing a balancing act because if I go too low the rest of the picture looks too light. I'm also starting with my clarity before doing the blacks. I noticed when the clarity is maxed out it makes the shadows darker and I lose detail so I do the clarity first and then if the pic needs more black I add it. I don't watch videos to learn this stuff, I'm pretty much self taught so it may take longer for me to get where I need to be with editing. I don't do a whole lot of fancy stuff like using the "S curve" and some other things that other people do. Maybe I'll learn and use them over time, they can help I realize but since this is just a hobby for me I don't take it all too serious.

Side note: I also found, and it's a personal taste, that I like the looks of ocean water like in the first pic a little better when the contrast is a little lower to lighten and soften the waves. When they're dark and sharp they just don't appeal to me. I obviously used an ND filter on the last pic to smooth it completely and get a little bit of a sheen and reflection but with choppy waves it ain't easy.

I had literally just crossed that bridge on May 9, 1980 and was eating breakfast in a McDonald's somewhere near the 275/75 interesect when we all heard the news the bridge had collapsed...talk about having a bad case of the heebie jeebies, I was a basket case all the way back to Ft. Lauderdale. It's a really high bridge....long way to fall.

Good timing I'd say. You could've been taking pictures of Davy Jones locker for the rest of your days.
