Sleepy Creek Lake Otter!

After all the years I have been coming to this lake, this is the first otter I have seen. He was hunting of coarse and I followed him around for about thirty minutes. When he would surface, he sounded like a whale with all his snorting and blowing. It was kinda difficult keeping up with him since he was so fast.

Big congrats on getting to see that. I watched 2 a couple years ago working in unison while " herding " fish into the shallow end of a local pond. It was such a great sight to witness.

Great find for you and the chance to get some shots!
Unfortunately I have seen them a little more up close..
We bought a house off a small boat - creek, and put in a koi pond and waterfall for airation.
Well the otters found our pond and ate some extremely expensive koi!!
Ugh!

But we love seeing them at Yellowstone.

I know what you mean. My older brother has a large pond in his back yard and one day "something" ate all of his real expensive and old fish. He was so frustrated he never replaced them.
