Smaller aperture next time?

Should I have used a smaller aperture? Is the shallow DOF distracting? Also how's the processing on this one? All cc welcome.

It boggles my mind how why people would post images that have black bands like that. We all know the camera did not put them on the image why would a person do that to an image.

I didn't do it... Why would I add that terrible thing? I'm using tapatalk and that's how the stupid thing uploads pics. Or maybe I'm tech challenged.

I don't think its the app how are you getting the image into your camera roll to then upload? I'm betting you did a screen shot of flicker or something instead of actually syncing the photo to your ipad/iPhone or pressing and holding on the image and then selecting save to camera roll. If you did do the screen shot then yes you did do it, screen shots capture the whole screen and you then failed to crop it on the ipad/iPhone.

Doesn't look crazy soft to me. I like shallow dof.. But I think I'd prefer if more of him were in sharp focus. Like his shirt collar behind the neck there is a total blur.

Wow you must be an iOS pro... But you're wrong. I saved this to my camera roll... Still have black lines. Good thing you didn't bet anything important.

I think I'm a dinosaur. I understood about 1 word in 5 of this conversation. :scratch: Please don't try to translate, I'm blissfully ignorant about these devices and wish to remain that way. I don't want technology that can go to the bathroom or the beach or the cinema with me.

I quite like the image, it's too small for my eyes to tell about fine focus details but I like the concept and the crop.
