Smudge on my photos ? Help please.

Refer to the cameras manual, cleaning is not difficult if you following the instructions.

"United Camera" is a place in the Chicagoland area that repairs camera and they have a pretty fast turn-around. They will send you a mailing kit to make it easy. I got a quote for them to calibrate the autofocus on my eos 3 with a CLA for $110 with the mailing kit, $100 without. I don't know how that compares to canon's repair center, but they definitely seem to have faster turn-around.

You can call Canon for a quote and can ship directly to them: Canon USA Inc, 100 Ridge Rd, Jamesburg, NJ 08831-3000, (732) 521-7230. Until you get the mechanical issue taken care of, try removing the image digitally in software like Lightroom. You can use the easily remove the aberration using the Clone/Heal tool. If you're not using Lightroom, why not download the trial version from Adobe? In any event, keep shooting, keep learning.

If you like to spend money, send it in. Personally I've done this many times on my 350d, Sonoma gave you the actually cleaning instructions that are step by step and easily found on the net. This is part of owning your camera, almost a basic camera function. Don't do more than recommended but 90% of the time it solves the issue.

Thank you for all of the replies! I read the manual a little more and figured out how to clean the camera myself.. VOILA!! Smudge is gone :)
