smurfing?

a question in light of the recent expulsion- if one is banned, is there anything to prevent one from smurfing (re-entering under another name and email)? can you track ip addresses to prevent this?

I've never seen it called smurfing before. Interesting...

I am sure the software tracks IP and IPs can be banned. I think it's common forum stuff. My forum does it and I don't even pay for it!

I would imagine that the IP would have been banned to prevent the little bugger from coming back.

I believe that Chase banned his IP. so he'd hafta spoof his IP. but you know 13yr olds these days...

what about dynamic ip's? how would you block them?

Well you can block a range of IP's but usually with cable modems you get an ip address and it lasts a few weeks. hopefully the tool will forget about it in a few weeks.
