Here are a few outdoor shots of Sangre, my Borneo blood python. He's my favorite to shoot because he's the smallest in my collection (not for long, he's growing like a weed).

The second is the better of the two I think, as it fills the frame better and the eye is in sharp focus. I think it would look better in colour though and you could try a smaller aperture to get a great depth of field.

Try cropping off the top part of the first image. That white thing in the upper left is really distracting.
