Snow photos at night

Hi guys i was thinking about going out tonight and taking some photos of the snow in the dark. Any advice before i give it ago

bring a tripod

try not to use that great of a flash as well, it will leave your photo's "bleached", only use a flash if your taking a picture of someone sledding or snowboarding or something along those lines. other wise leave your aperture wide open and a long exposure time.
