Just a Snowy Egret in flight and a couple killdeer, I was hoping for some raptors, but it was pretty windy yesterday, other than these guys and a few gulls, there wasn't much out.

Man, I just love the colors in that egret shot!
Killdeer might just be one of the most photogenic birds ever. I've already got more killdeer shots than any one person really needs to have, but I just can't ever seem to resist those great big eyes!

Thanks Sharon. that egret was teasing me the whole time I was there, I'd carefully sneak up closer, and right before I take the shot I'd fly another little further, so I'd sneak closer, and it'd fly a little further, etc..hehe so most of my images from the day were flying butt shots...

THe egret shot is indeed, simply LOVELY. Such a beautiful photograph! So simple and so clean. Wonderfully done.

I agree with the above statements. The coloring in the egret photo is wonderful! I like seeing the DOF in the second with the killdeer too. Number 3 has tack sharp detail.
Nice set!

Thanks all!

Ditto... Wonderful set! You must have been after same egret as me, get closer- they fly off a little, get closer- they fly off..
Nancy

They ALL do it, and they ALL fly off butt-to-the-camera, in whatever direction will give you the least likely chance to even get a shot off. It's annoying as all get out. :lmao:

Thanks everyone!

heh exactly, it was like I'd sneak 10 feet closer, and he'd fly 12 feet away...over and over, so he was progressively getting further and further from me each time I'd stop to take a pic.

Great first pic! Simple and very beautiful

Agree with all of the above. If there ever was a great example of how to utilize the "rule of thirds'', that first shot is it!

Thanks!
